Irony :D

Picture this:  I'm too lazy to get real shoes on to go out to see a movie, so I just slip on flip flops.  Yes I know it's the end of November, yes I know it's cold...but how bad can it be, I'll just be walking from the parking lot to the theater and then back out again?  At home my car is parked in my garage so no worries about really going outside there.  I walk out the door and notice that there is the occasional snowflake dropping from the sky.  And when I say occasional I really mean it!  I stutter in the doorway debating on whether to go all the way up the stairs to my room to change shoes...Naw! it's not that bad, so I decide to leave the flip flops on.

The movie:  2012 the summer disaster movie that for some inexplicable reason decided to not only release in the winter (good cuz there are never any good movies in the winter time) but also the same week as New Moon releases (bad cuz that is movie death).  I enjoyed the movie, my expectations weren't high to begin with so maybe that had something to do with it.  It was just fun...I know that is probably a bad thing to say about watching a movie where 98% of the human population is killed and Yellowstone is blown up in a volcanic explosion, along with most of the rest of the planet, but none the less it was enjoyable.

The irony: Walking out of the movie theater I stare in disbelief at the door of the theater which is so covered in snow I can barely see the blizzard that is raging beyond it.  Snow is blowing sideways, people can barely make it in the door with out looking like they are going to fly away, and the doors look like they are going to be ripped off their hinges everytime someone opens them which not only lets the cold air come blowing in, but little temporary snowdrifts form in the entryway each time.  I can't help it I start to laugh and then look down at my feet and laugh harder.  Go to watch an end of the world movie in flip flops...finish...come out and it looks like the beginning of the end in the real world too.  I laughed all the way home, which is unusual for me in white out conditions.
