Student of the Month

Mira got Student of the Month for December!!  Yay!! I'm so proud of you girlie girl.  We get to go see her get a certificate and a pencil (whoo hoo for the pencil....lol...what is it about pencils that is so cool when you are a kid?  I remember bringing money to the local public library so I could buy pencils out of their pencil machine).  Anyway the school is having a little ceremony on Monday morning.  A big cheer for Mira!!

-8 degrees brrr

Thank goodness I had my kids warm up my car this morning because it is COLD!!! -8 degrees what the heck?!!  So I guess the frigid weather sucked all the air out of my tires because my pressure gauge was on.  I went to Chevron (they are the only gas station with free air....go figure) to fill up my tires and there were at least 5 other people waiting.  I had Caleb in the car with me while I was waiting for my FREE air (i think all air should be free...God doesn't make us pay for air, why should Maverick...sheesh)  Any hoo, I had my favorite Diana Krall CD playing in the car and my favorite song "My Love Is" was playing.  It's a fantastic song!  It has a great rhythm and Caleb really liked it too.  She snaps through the whole song.  Caleb can't snap, but he can click his tongue, which is what he did and he was able to do it at exactly the same time that she snaps.  Pretty cool.  Plus he was singing along, it was awesome.  What a cute boy!!

More Funny Sayings--to be added to as necessary :P

"How can you run around on that gravel in your bare feet?" -Me
"I"m a hobbit!" -Max

"Cats don't say No! They only say meow!" -Mira

"(singing)  All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth... (repeated 8 times or more)" -Mira
"Well at least we don't have to worry about a Christmas present for you, since you already got it."-Garry
(deer in the headlights look) "What!!?? No!! that was only a song! I don't want teeth for Christmas, am I really only going to get teeth?" -Mira

"Mom!  Look at this bee on my shirt!"-Harrison (walks into the house petting the biggest bumblebee I've ever seen)
"ummm no! Take the bee back outside, don't bring that in the house." -Me
"But mom look it's a nice a bee!" -Harrison

"Look what followed me home.  Can I keep it?" -Harrison referring to a baby killdeer that actually did follow him home, we took the baby back to his very upset mother and then had to do it again the next day when we found the bird back in our garage.  And again a third time when he found another bird and let it go in the house 5 minutes before I had to go to work.  Poor thing had to stay locked in Harrison's room till we got home from school and had to find it.  Anyway, it's funny how you can read that line in a comic strip or in a joke, but never actually believe it's going to come out of your children's mouths....but there it does, just like the "Mom she's touching me or the are we there yet?" that actually happens in the car.  And in fact happens so much that the kids now have to have assigned seats in the car if I'm going anywhere with them.

After spending an hour convincing the kids to come help put Christmas lights on the house this is the question I get asked the next day.
"Hey mom?  Can we go play on the roof?" --Harrison and Max
"Ummm...NO!!"---Me

Caleb Speak

"Mommy? Fish Wish, snuggle, drink and sleep by me?" (Caleb's night time routine.  Read Fish Wish, snuggle, get a drink and then he wants me to sleep next to him for a couple minutes)

"You're my best friend!" (You've just done something he likes.)  "You're not my best friend!" (Obviously you've done something not to his liking.)

Ok! Ok! you're a window!  Ok! Ok! you're a shark! (You have to have his heffalump costume on your hand and he's asking the elephant to be different things)

"Mommy fishies? I want to pop it!"  (He wants me to open up my "fish tank" on Facebook and let him watch his Fish Wish tank and tap on the "glass" and watch the fishies swim)

"Simpsimps!"  "Dolphins!" "Spongebob care pants" "Dora dora" (Caleb's favorite TV shows: Simpsons--to which he does all the sounds for the opening credits, Planet Earth--he loves the fish and dolphins, he gets super excited when the dolphins show up and he runs around in circles yelling dolphins dolphins!!, SpongeBob and Dora the Explorer which apparently he watches all the time at Grandma Tania and Popi's house since from what I can tell he can sing the opening credits to both the shows.  He really wanted to be SpongeBob for Halloween, but he had to settle for being a dragon.)

"The robot's coming! We have to hide!" (What he says just before the robot comes out of the jungle to attack Mr. Incredible)

"Come back here you!" (As the beetle with really huge pinchers who is trying to catch the female beetle and trap her, while watching the Insect episode of the BBC mini-series Life.)
